Achilles tendon injuries tend to require a lot of rehabilitation. Aaron had surgery a few days ago with surgeon Dr. Neal ElAttrache.
When asked about the timeline of his injury and how he might not be able to return this season, Aaron said on the Pat McAfee Show: “Give me the doubts, give me the timelines, give me all the things that you think can, should or will happen.” , because all I need is that little extra percentage of inspiration. That’s all I need. So give me your doubts, give me your predictions and then watch what I do.”
A source told ESPN that “it’s not out of the question” that Aaron could return, depending on how his rehab goes. The Jets are currently 1-2, and if they don’t start winning games, it might seem unlikely that they will make the January 2024 playoffs.
For some context, the late NBA star Kobe Bryant tore his Achilles tendon during the 2013 season and it took him 8 months of rehab to return. NBA superstar Kevin Durant ruptured his Achilles tendon in June 2019 and did not return until December 2020.
