What we know about Stacey Dash’s parents

Fans usually offer their sympathies after a celebrity opens up about their drug issues, but the reception to Stacey Dash’s announcement that she battled drug addiction was markedly different. Dash told Doctor Oz that she would pop 18 to 20 Vicodin pills per day at the height of her drug use.

Thankfully, she stated that she’d kicked the drug problem and had been sober for five years. Netizens – especially those from the black community – view Stacey as a villain for her 2016 comments against Obama’s speech on terrorism. She claimed that she’s moved on from that ‘angry’ woman in 2016, but the black community refuses to hear any of it.

Stacey claims that her parents introduced her to heroin and cocaine

Stacey Lauretta Dash was born on 20th January 1967 to Dennis and Linda Dash. Dennis and Linda have passed away.

Dash told Doctor Oz that Dennis used heroin and Linda used cocaine and smoked crack. She said that her first hit of cocaine came from her mom. “For my Sweet 16, she gave me my first line of cocaine,” Stacey said.

Stacey said that part of her recovery involved healing from the trauma from childhood. She told Doctor Oz that she harbors no resentment towards her parents:

“In this five years my blessing, greatest blessing, is that only have I been able, to be honest with myself and become a better person. I’ve been able to understand my parents and that they did love me and that they were doing the best they could and that they were just sick, they were addicted.”

Dash’s family went through plenty of turmoil in the early 90s

Stacey was thirteen when her parents divorced. Linda remarried Cecil Holmes, the co-founder of Casablanca Records who introduced Stacey’s younger brother, Darien Dash, to the inner workings of the music industry.

Disaster struck Dash’s family in the early 90s. Darien told The New York Times: “In the space of two weeks when I was 18, my father died, and I was one of the first ones to find him, my stepfather’s house in Paramus burned down, my mother and stepfather separated.”
