Fred Durst is an American singer who rose to fame as the frontman for the band Limp Bizkit. The band first earned acclaim in the underground music scene before signing with Flip Records in 1997. Limp Bizkit’s first album didn’t cause much of a stir, but it did give Fred and his bandmates more exposure.
Mainstream success came with Significant Other and Starfish Chocolate and Hot Dog Flavored Water. The band released their sixth and final album, Gold Cobra, in 2011. Durst has since immersed himself in producing and directing films.

Limp Bizkit has long promised to release a seventh album titled Stampede of the Disco Elephants. The band’s guitarist, Wes Borland, told Drinks with Johnny’s Johnny Christ that the album is still in the works.
According to Borland, the band has completed production, but Fred has yet to add his vocals. “Fred has always been a bit dissatisfied with vision,” Borland said. According to Borland, Durst will be adding lyrics soon. He said:
“I think he is [Durst] finally to the point now where he’s going to pick a set of these songs that he finally agrees with and finish them off, and we’re going to finish a record. I doubt it was called Stampede of the Disco Elephants at the time. I will definitely say that the riffs and music are the best I’ve ever done as a musician.”
Limp Bizkit fans therefore have a reason to be excited. The album will come once Fred delivers vocals that he is satisfied with.
Borland also spoke about improving his relationship with Fred, which has been chaotic in the past. Before the band achieved commercial success, Borland left temporarily due to a disagreement with Fred. Wes said:
“He and I get along very well. We had a tumultuous relationship over the years, but it took us a while to grow as people. It’s like being in a family, and families don’t always get along. But you’re stuck, so you have to figure it out.”
