The most anticipated match of the 2023 Asia Cup, the clash between arch-enemies India and Pakistan, keeps getting postponed. The match originally scheduled for September 10 was moved to a spare day due to heavy rain.
Pakistan won the toss and elected to bowl. With the rain pouring down, India completed 24.1 overs and will resume play on Monday, September 11.

A reserve day applies if rain washes out a knockout match. If it is not possible to score at least 10 overs per side during the semi-final matches and the final, then a spare day will be used.
The match would be moved to a reserve day if even a full 10-over-a-side match could not be created.

How will Reserve Day determine the winner?
If rain interrupts play after the two teams are 10-over, the result will be determined using the DLS (Duckworth Luis Stern) system. The game will not be delayed and the winner will be decided then and there.
The Duckworth-Lewis-Stern method, also known as the DLS method, is a mathematical formula used to determine the target score for the side’s second batsman in a limited overs cricket match that has been postponed due to bad weather or other events.
By estimating how many runs the teams should have scored and how many they would have scored had the resources available to both sides been equal, the DLS method determines goals and outcomes.
The formula used to determine the winner is: Team 1’s score x (Team 2’s resources / Team 1’s resources) = Team 2’s score.
Two sources are available: overs remaining and wickets remaining.
The par score in cricket refers to the expected score that a team will achieve while batting first.
