Percy wrote in a statement posted to his Instagram story: “Hello everyone. There is something I need to clarify. Earlier this year, someone I had never met started a misinformation campaign about me online. Because of this, my family has been deceived and my friends have received death threats.”

“Photographs of me as a minor were used and examples of me acting in characters were presented as hateful. My friend Jane was falsely portrayed as a victim and her attempts to set the record straight have been ignored. “She gave me permission to include her in this message,” Percy continued.

“Please, the harassment of my family, friends and co-workers needs to stop,” he added. “Thank you for taking the time to read this.”
