In 2021, he left the Bharatiya Janata Party and joined Janata Dal United as state secretary. Within a short time he was appointed as the state general secretary in Janata Dal United. He joined politics to work for the welfare of Kashmiri citizens. He is closely monitoring the problems of the people and working for their betterment.
