Vinay Kumar Saxena started working as an Assistant Officer in the White Cement Plant of JK Group Rajasthan in 1991. He worked there for about 11 years, playing various roles. In 1995, he was selected as the General Manager to look after the proposed port project in Gujarat. National Council for Civil Liberties (NCCL)

On 21 November 2014, he launched another project named ‘Rainbow Hills’ from Vanaj village in Sabarkantha district of Gujarat. The objective of this project was to reconstruct/repair and modernize tribal houses in the tribal Vanaj village, which is situated on a small hill overlooking a huge lake. The tribals built 12 selected houses in Vanaj using mud for the walls and local wood for the roof. Those rotting and dusty houses were unfit for human habitation. In a record time of three months, NCCL completed the repair and reconstruction of these 12 houses. Repairs to walls, floors, roofs, verandahs and toilets among other structures were completed as part of the programme. The aim of the scheme was to provide basic facilities to the deprived tribals while preserving their culture, customs and environment. These tribals were also encouraged to rent out a room in these renovated residences to tourists to increase their income.

Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC)
