Vijayendra Ghatge is an Indian actor who predominanly works in the Bollywood film industry. He is known for his appearance as Lala Vrishbhan in the television serial Buniyaad (1986). He is also known for his work in the films like Chitchor (1976), Satte Pe Satta (1982), Prem Rog (1982), and Devdas (2002).

Vijayendra Ghatge was born on Thursday, 1 January 1970 (age 52 years; as of 2022) in Kolhapur, Maharashtra. He grew up in Indore, Madhya Pradesh. He attended Daly College in Indore. Vijayendra pursued a Bachelor of Commerce (Hons.) degree in Management at the Sydenham College of Commerce & Economics in Mumbai. Later, he completed an acting course at the Film and Television Institute of India in Pune, Maharashtra.

Vijayendra Ghatge’s mother, Sita Raje Ghatge, is the daughter of Maharaja Tukojirao Holkar III of Indore, while his father, Shrimant Sardar Fatehsinhrao Dattajirao Ghatge, belonged to a clan that ruled a princely state in India. His sister, Sunanda Ghatge, died in 1984 in the terrorist bombing of the Air India flight Kanishka.

Vijayendra Ghatge made his debut in Bollywood with the romantic musical film ‘Chitchor’ in 1976 as Sunil Kishan.

In 1978, he appeared as Kundan Ghanshyamdas in the film ‘Kasme Vaade.’ In 1982, he played the role of Rama’s husband, Kunwar Narendra Pratap Singh, in the film ‘Prem Rog’ starring Rishi Kapoor as Devdhar (Dev), Padmini Kolhapure as Manorama (Rama), and Shammi Kapoor as Rama’s paternal uncle, Bade Raja Thakur, along with others. Vijayendra played the role of Bhuvan Choudhry, the ageing husband of Paro, in the Sanjay Leela Bhansali-directed film ‘Devdas’ in 2002; the film cast Shah Rukh Khan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, and Madhuri Dixit in the lead roles.

In 1982, he appeared as Shekhar in the film ‘Satte Pe Satta,’ starring Amitabh Bachchan and Hema Malini along with others. Vijayendra Ghatge later appeared in many Bollywood films including ‘Razia Sultan’ (1983), ‘Kali Basti’ (1985), ‘Veerana’ (1988), ‘Tridev’ (1989), ‘Kabhie Tum Kabhie Hum’ (2002), and ‘Aazan’ (2011).
