Vijayapriya Nithyananda aka Maa Vijayapriya was born in Washington DC, United States of America. From 2005 to 2009, he attended the University of Cambridge, England (grades O-levels and A-levels). From 2010 to 2014, he pursued a BSc (Hons) in Microbiology with a Minor in Chemistry at the University of Manitoba, Winnipeg, Canada. From 2010 to 2014, he received an International Graduate Student Scholarship at the University of Manitoba. In November 2011, she was awarded the University of Manitoba Honor Roll for her outstanding academic performance. In June 2014, the University of Manitoba honored him with the Dean’s Honors List.

Controversial comment on Indian government
In February 2023, he represented the United States of America at the United Nations Conference in Geneva, Switzerland. At the conference he accused the Indian government of persecuting his guru Nityananda for reviving Hindu traditions. He further asked,
What measures can be taken at the national and international level to stop the persecution of the 20 million Hindu migrant population in Nithyananda and Kailasa?
He targeted the Indian government in the conference for which he was criticized.
Even UN officials were questioned for allowing a diplomat from a fictitious country to attend the meeting. Later, while answering the questions, UN said that the inputs given by Vijayapriya were not considered. According to sources, the UN panel said that Nityananda’s country ‘Kailasa’ had participated in the UN meeting not as a country but as an NGO.
