Later, the Prime Minister thanked the 300 women for their efforts. And the government gave them a group award of Rs 50,000.

On 26 May 1962, Vijay Karnik was assigned to the Indian Air Force. He therefore served as a squad leader in Bhuj during the Indo-Pakistani War of 1971.
He fought in the Indo-Pakistan War of 1965 and the Sino-Indian War of 1962. Therefore, he is known for his contribution to the Indo-Pakistan War. Vijay was posted to the 6th Squadron in Pune in 1967.
