Victoria Gauri Muhturam is an Indian legal practitioner and former politician, who was appointed as an Additional Judge of the Madras High Court in Chennai on 7 February 2023 while hearing petitions against her elevation to the High Court in the Supreme Court of India. Gauri, by her own admission, is the general secretary of the Bharatiya Janata Party Mahila Morcha.

l. Victoria Gauri, also known as Lakshmana Chandra Victoria Gauri, was born on Monday, 21 May 1973 (age 50 years; as in 2023). She is a resident of Nagercoil, Tamil Nadu. His zodiac sign is Gemini. She did her schooling from Little Flower Higher Secondary School. She was the student leader of her school. After completing her schooling, Victoria obtained her Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from the Government Law College, Madurai in 1995. He enrolled with the Madras Bar Council (now, Bar Council of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry) on 27 September 1995. After this, he did M.Sc. Studied. From Mother Teresa University, Kodaikanal.

After enrollment in the Madras Bar Council in September 1995, Victoria Gauri started practicing law independently before the court of Subordinate Judge in Karur. After a brief practice, in 1996, she transferred to the Kanyakumari District Court. A year later, he established his own law firm named VVictory Legal Associates in Kanyakumari district. With six advocates on its panel, VVictory Legal Associates is one of the leading law firms in Kanyakumari, known for its distinguished services in civil, family, criminal and writ and appeal matters. In 2006, she expanded her practice to the Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court, where she served as the Assistant Solicitor General of India.

He was appointed as Additional Judge of the Madras High Court at Chennai on 7 February 2023 after approval from the Centre. In 2023, following the Supreme Court Collegium’s recommendation to appoint Victoria Gauri as an additional judge of the Madras High Court, many lawyers of the Madras High Court started protesting against her appointment. The protesting lawyers claimed that his previous public speeches contained controversial comments against religious minorities such as Muslims and Christians. He also pointed to his past association with the Bharatiya Janata Party. Lawyers also filed a petition in the Supreme Court of India against his promotion, alleging that his previous speeches reflected strong bias against citizens based on their religious affiliation. On 7 February 2023, he was sworn in as an Additional Judge of the Madras High Court by T Raja, the Acting Chief Justice of the Madras High Court, amid the hearing of the petition against him in the Supreme Court of India. A special bench of the Supreme Court comprising Justices Sanjiv Khanna and Bhushan Ramakrishna Gavai, while dismissing the petition, said that the bench cannot direct the SC collegium to reconsider its recommendation on Victoria Gauri. The bench further said that there were instances when the additional judge was not made permanent on the basis of his performance. After the Supreme Court announced its decision, many lawyers in Chennai protested against it.
