The actors’ strike is still ongoing, but we’re learning which TV shows Netflix and HBO prioritize once stars are allowed to return to work and start filming again.
If you don’t know, the WGA and SAG-AFTRA unions were on strike simultaneously all summer. Fortunately, the WGA strike ended after reaching a new and fair agreement. However, the actors’ strike continues. What this means is that writers can now begin or continue writing scripts for fan-favorite shows and movies. However, actors cannot return to work until SAG-AFTRA has a fair agreement (unless they are given a special exception from SAG-AFTRA).
A report clarifies that HBO has three big TV shows that will be prioritized for filming in 2024, and Netflix has two shows they are focusing on after the strike.
