The San Francisco 49ers and the Kansas City Chiefs will meet in the Super Bowl this weekend. And with all the hype surrounding one of the biggest sporting events of the year, one topic has consistently made headlines this week.
Chiefs star tight end Travis Kelce began dating pop star Taylor Swift late last year. And they have gotten most of the NFL coverage during the Super Bowl media availability.
Swift has been present at all of Travis’ playoff games leading up to the Super Bowl. But on Wednesday, the star tight end told reporters that he is not sure if she will be present in Las Vegas this Sunday.
“We’ll worry about whether she’ll be able to go to the Super Bowl,” Kelce told reporters.
Swift is currently in Tokyo performing her Eras tour through Saturday. But most thought she would travel to Las Vegas to see Travis on Sunday.
Fans criticize Kelce for absence from the Grammys
You may have noticed that Kelce wasn’t alongside Swift at the Grammys. She has attended several of her games this year, but Kelce has not appeared at any awards shows with her new boyfriend. Many saw the 2024 Grammys as a perfect opportunity to do so. But the superstar tight end didn’t show up to the awards show last weekend.
Kelce was preparing to face the 49ers in the Super Bowl this weekend. And with the NFL’s grueling schedule, he couldn’t travel to Los Angeles for the Grammys last weekend. After Travis didn’t show up to the star-studded awards show, some fans expressed their displeasure.
“Could have made both events be on the west coast,” one user said.
“That idiot could have gone to the Grammys. “He decided not to do it,” added another.

Chiefs quarterback gets honest about Kelce
Kelce was already a star in his own right. But since she went public with her relationship with Taylor Swift, her celebrity status has skyrocketed significantly. But despite her newfound fame, Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes says Kelce is the same person.
“Travis has always been Travis. He’s still Travis Kelce,” Mahomes said.
“He will still walk around the stadium and treat every person like they are his best friend. And he will be like that in the locker room every day.”
