Jason Kelce made his brother Travis Kelce cry. The Kansas City Chiefs tight end wiped his eyes as he watched his brother retire from the NFL.
During the ceremony, Jason reflected on his years playing football and his family life. It was a big moment for the brothers, taking down one of the most famous NFL brothers since the Mannings.
“So, all of this brings us to today. Where I announce that I am retiring from the NFL after 13 seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles,” Jason said. “And today I must admit that I am officially overrated. Very overrated. It took a lot of hard work and determination to get here. I’ve been the underdog my entire career, and I mean it when I say it, I wish I could still be that way. Few things give me as much joy as proving someone wrong.”
Before the ceremony, Travis spoke about his brother’s retirement. He said the retirement caused an uproar in sports.

“I think everyone in the football world felt it. There’s clearly a lot of emotion at the end of this game for you guys, but I can attest to that because I was feeling it. I know Kylie, mom, dad, everyone who was at the game felt it. And I know all the friends and family that I got texts from… they were all sorry, man,” he told Us Weekly.
“It’s been great to see everyone appreciate who he’s been over the years this past week,” Travis said. “I think the big guy still has some football left in him if he wants it.”
Travis Kelce gets excited
Travis was in front of the hearing for his brother’s retirement. He sat next to his parents and Jason’s wife, Kylie. Taylor Swift didn’t attend the event in case you were wondering.
Jason explained how his relationship with his brother played a pivotal role in his NFL career.
“We have a small family. No cousins, an aunt, an uncle. “It really was me and my brother our whole lives,” Jason explained. “We did almost everything together: we competed, we fought, we laughed, we cried and we learned from each other.”
“And my brother got the call and was drafted by the Kansas City Chiefs,” Jason said. “This time, tears came to both my father and me as my brother realized his own [dream].”
Travis has not announced his own retirement. The Kansas City Chiefs tight end just won back-to-back Super Bowls and is in the prime of his career.
