Travis Kelce admits he ‘crossed a line’ with viral Andy Reid Bump at Super Bowl LVIII

Days after the Kansas City Chiefs won Super Bowl LVIII, Travis Kelce talks about his intense interaction with coach Andy Reid on the sideline.

While on the sidelines, Kelce was seen yelling at Reid and eventually punching the head coach. Although social media was quick to criticize the situation and Kelce, Reid responded by stating that it was no big deal.

“He tried that hip,” Reid said during CBS Postgame Show. “He caught me off balance; normally I’d give him a little, but he didn’t have any foot under me.”

Andy Reid also praised Travis Kelce for his strong focus on winning. “What I love is that he loves to play and he wants to help his team win,” Reid said. “It’s not selfish, it’s not that and I understand it. So no matter how much he clashes with me, I pursue him and we understand.”

During the February 14 episode of his new heights On the podcast, Travis and his brother Jason Kelce looked back on the incident. “You crossed a line,” Jason said. “I think we can both agree on that.”

In response to Jason’s comment, Travis said, “I did. I can’t get that to turn on to the point of making him lose his balance. When he tripped, I thought, ‘Oh shit’ in my head.”

Travis Kelce went on to say that he is a very passionate guy and loves Andy Reid. “Coach Reid knows how much I love being a product of his coaching career.”

Andy Reid has been coaching Travis Kelce since the Kansas City Chiefs drafted the tight end in 2013.

Travis Kelce says he refuses to play for anyone else if Andy Reid retires

While he and his brother Jason Kelce continue to chat about Andy Reid, Travis stated that he refuses to play for anyone else if the Kansas City head coach retires this year.

“I won’t play for anyone but Big Red,” Kelce said of Reid. “If he quits this year, I’ll be there with him.”

Travis Kelce later said that he also has a “certain relationship” with Andy Reid. “He’s examined me a couple of times,” Kelce continued before returning to the fight on the bench. “And I just wanted to let him know that I wanted this, that he could put it on me and I got it.”

Kelce further explained that the intense incident occurred just when the Chiefs were not playing very well. It was when Isiah Pacheco lost the ball in the second quarter. “It just came at a time when we weren’t playing very well. And sometimes my emotions escape me, that has been the battle of my career.”
