Travis Kelce is officially putting an end to those Taylor Swift engagement rumors. Kelce insisted that he doesn’t have wedding bells on his mind right now.
Kelce is understandably trying to stay focused. She’s about to step onto football’s biggest stage once again and she needs all of her attention to lead the Kansas City Chiefs to a Super Bowl victory.
“I’m focused on getting this ring,” he said in one February 5 press conference. Kelce, of course, is referring to the Super Bowl ring. “That’s all my mind is focused on right now.” Kelce responded to engagement rumors circulating around the two.
According to sources, via Page Six, Kelce and Swift are planning a summer engagement. The source said: “Taylor and Travis discussed it and there is a plan. “They will get engaged on their first anniversary in July.”
Just because she doesn’t plan to ask the question right away doesn’t mean Kelce isn’t focused on Swift. Kelce congratulated Swift for making history during the GRAMMYs. The artist won a historic award for Album of the Year.
“She’s amazing,” he told reporters. “She’s rewriting the history books and I told her she’d have to hold up my end of the deal and come home with some hardware too.”
Previously, Kelce lamented not being able to support Swift at the GRAMMYs. However, again, Kelce’s commitment to the Kansas City Chiefs prevented him from attending. The athlete is focused on training and preparing for the Super Bowl.
“I wish I could go support Taylor at the Grammys,” the athlete said in The Pat McAfee Show“and see her win all the awards she’s nominated for.”

However, Kelce and Swift are doing better than ever despite the ever-present media spectacle.
“We’re just two people in a relationship supporting each other and having fun,” he said. “I love when Taylor comes out, supports me and enjoys the game with my family and friends. “It has been nothing but a wonderful year.”
Likewise, Swift was grateful that the relationship was open and that they could be happy together.
“When you say a relationship is public, that means I’m going to see him do what he loves, we introduce ourselves to each other, there are other people there and we don’t care.”
“The opposite of that is that you have to go to extreme lengths to make sure no one knows you’re dating someone. And we are proud of each other,” he told TIME magazine.
