Following Todd Chrisley’s comments about the food he is given in prison, the institution where the reality star is serving his sentence is speaking out about his claims.

“It’s so disgustingly dirty,” Todd Chrisley declared. “The food is literally, I’m not exaggerating… The food is dated and out of date by at least a year. It’s been a year since it expired. and here they are literally starving these men. “These men are consuming, I don’t know, a thousand calories a day.”
Chrisley also talked about the other inhabitants of the prison, such as rats and squirrels. She alleged that there may be creatures in the storage place where the food is kept. “They just covered it with plastic and then ripped off the roof,” she explained. “Because of all the black mold, I found a dead cat on the ceiling and it fell on top of the food.”
Todd Chrisley also accused staff members at the facility of trying to “break” and “humiliate” him. “A staff member told me this,” he said. “One of the ways he tries to break me is by reducing what you can buy at the police station. So before she came here, you could buy 12 packs of Tune a week. She reduced it to six, and from six it went to three.”
Chrisley added that the prison staff member had no reason for these changes. “When I asked him about it, he said the police station is a privilege, not a right.”
Prison issues statement regarding Todd Chrisley’s claims
In a statement provided to TMZ, the Federal Bureau of Prisons (FBOP) stated that they are operating safe and humane facilities despite Todd Chrisley’s claims. Under FBOP regulations, the mission of prison food service is to provide healthy, nutritious and appetizing meals that meet the needs of each inmate.
FBOP institutions, which include FPC Pensacola, where Todd Chrisley is detained, are accredited by the American Correctional Association. This organization covers life and other essential regulations.
The FBOP further urged inmates like Chrisley to also raise any concerns in a formal review through the prison’s Administrative Remedy Program.
Todd Chrisley’s daughter, Savannah, also spoke out about prison conditions. During an appearance on Court TV, Savannah stated that there have been multiple complaints. “There are complaints of black mold, asbestos, lead-based paint and dirty drinking water. And then at the police station they don’t even have bottled water. Apparently there is a shortage of bottled water.”
