Ariana Grande will play the role of Glinda in the next Wicked movies and beat out many actresses for the coveted role.
Four stars have confirmed they auditioned to play Glinda in Wickedalthough we’re pretty sure there were dozens of others who were up for the part as well.
Director Jon M. Chu has just released the first official look at Ariana as Glinda and Cynthia Erivo as Elphaba and we’ve got some amazing set photos to share with you, too.
“I think one of the most overlooked facts about the #WickedMovie casting was that EVERYONE HAD to audition. There were NO direct offers and they appeared! It was humbling to see these actors spill their guts on the floor for this movie,” Jon revealed last year. “Cynthia and Ariana EARNED their roles and brought our little casting room to tears multiple times throughout the process. I can’t believe I had the privilege of witnessing the birth of Elphaba and Galinda. And one day you will too!!”
