A new player now holds the title of highest-paid player in NFL history: Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts!
The 24-year-old young star led his team to the Super Bowl 2023 this year, but ultimately lost to the Kansas City Chiefs. Despite losing, Hurts made a name for himself last season and showed incredible potential on the field. The future is very bright for the Eagles and their fan base!
Keep reading to find out how much Jalen’s contract is worth…
According to the NFL, the Eagles and Hurts agreed to a five-year, $255 million contract extension.
The contract includes a whopping $179.304 million in total guarantees over the course of his tenure, including a whopping $110 million fully guaranteed payout at contract signing and another $126.5 million fully guaranteed in March 2024. This contract also marks another first for the Eagles franchise: the first no-trade clause in Philadelphia Eagles history. This means the Eagles can’t suddenly trade Hurts (and his massive contract) if his play declines over the years. This is a sign of faith from the Eagles that they have a lot of confidence in Hurts’ ability.
This contract is a record as it pays Jalen around $51 million per year on average. The second highest player by contract numbers is Aaron Rodgers, who makes around $49 million a year.
If you’re wondering, Jalen has kept a lot about his personal life private, but we found out details about his stunning girlfriend (and there are photos too!)
