Super Typhoon Mawar
Super Typhoon Mawar is as strong as a Category 5 hurricane. After visiting Guam, Super Typhoon Mawar withdrew from the Mariana Islands.
The tropical cyclone was the strongest since 2021. Guam experienced 28 inches of rain along with winds of more than 100 mph. In the past 20 years, Mawar has been the strongest storm tracked near Guam.

The storm became as strong as a Category 5 hurricane. Wind gusts at 185 mph on Thursday.
The winds are estimated to be stronger than any other tropical cyclone since the powerful super typhoon Chanthu in September 2021.
By Friday morning, the storm’s maximum winds had dropped to 165 mph.
