Joy Behar was recently missing from The view as we take a quick break from the Hot Topics table.
Behar, 81, left the talk show on Thursday, November 2 and Friday, November 3 to pursue another career opportunity: taking the stage for her performance at the New York Comedy Festival. Behar’s performance, Crazy people in the neighborhoodsconsists of five short plays about New York families and their different quirks and charms.
About him Behind the table podcast, Behar told executive producer Brian Teta, as reported by Entertainment Weekly, “I’m going to take it off so I can focus on this other thing for two days. I’ll be back next week. I thought to myself, “It’s a matter of self-preservation, honey.”
Teta laughed and replied, “Frankly, for me it’s also a matter of self-preservation.”
Although Whoopi Goldberg is known for taking every Friday off from the show, she stepped in to moderate amid Behar’s absence.
Sunny Hostin “Audible Wrinkling” Injury Incident
The view Co-host Sunny Hostin celebrated her 55th birthday with a less than desirable gift: a torn hamstring.
In the episode of his birthday The viewHostin revealed that he celebrated his big day by dealing with an injury he suffered while spending time with his children. She claimed her sons “challenged” her to do the splits after drinking two glasses of wine, which caused a tear in her muscle.
“I was warming up and I was actually going to do a split here and my husband shakes his head,” Hostin recalled before the camera showed his partner Manny sitting in the audience.
Before Hostin revealed his wine injury on the talk show, he discussed the incident on the Behind the table podcast with Brian Teta.
During the show, Hostin explained to Teta: “I hear a little audible crack or crunch. I was like, ‘Help me up!’”
One thing’s for sure: wine and ballroom gymnastics never mix well.
