The Real Reason Bobby Berk Was Asked to Leave ‘Queer Eye’

A source spoke about Bobby Berk’s recent departure from strange eye—and they claim that Berk will not leave for the reason he originally stated.

Berk was an original member of the Fab Five in the Netflix reboot of Weird eye. Berk, starring in the series as an interior design expert, created several memorable home makeovers throughout the series. His co-stars included Karamo Brown, Tan France, Antoni Porowski and Jonathan Van Ness.

The source added that there were “many challenges” before Berk’s departure.

“There were many challenges with programming [and] “Bobby lost interest in filming the show,” the source explained. “The network and the cast thought it was time to bring in new blood. His heart wasn’t in it and the rest of the cast started to resent him for it.”

On Monday, November 13, Berk announced his departure from strange eye in a long Instagram post.

Berk uploaded a carousel post with his co-stars and several strange eye guests, writing: “To the Queer Eye community who have become my family. The love I have received from you over the last 6 years has been absolutely surreal. You tuned in and were dedicated fans and together we were able to share the healing powers of design. From you I learned everything about kindness, love and acceptance and that has changed my life for the better. The way you embraced me and accepted me for who I am is something I will truly carry with me for the rest of my life. Over these years, you die-hard Queer Eye fans have shared with me many stories about how the show has touched your lives and I couldn’t be more grateful to each and every one of you for being brave enough to share your experiences.”

“To all of our wonderful, loving, amazing, brave heroes, there is a lot I want to say and a lot of gratitude I want to express to all of you for allowing me into your homes and hearts. It’s all thanks to you that I have kept going all these years and each and every one of you has changed me for the better. I am very proud of all of you!
