The Offer follows Al Ruddy (Miles Teller, Top Gun: Maverick) who begins his Hollywood with the iconic sitcom Hogan’s Heroes before moving into film. The Godfather, Ruddy’s first film, was adapted from the best-selling but heavily criticized Mario Puzo novel, quickly becoming one of the most acclaimed movies ever. The Godfather is also notable because of the heavy involvement of the Italian mafia who only allowed the movie to be made after they approved the script. Ruddy was instrumental in helping Teller craft this fictionalized version of himself.

Teller reminisces about the passion and intensity that Ruddy possesses and explains that while they were collaborating Ruddy referred to Teller’s version of himself as the character Al Ruddy. Teller also revealed that Ruddy was pitching other projects for him to work on before he officially signed onto The Offer miniseries. There are always challenges when portraying a real person especially when that individual is still alive, but Teller was able to work with Ruddy himself when crafting this version of the veteran producer.

The Offer reveals the wild story behind the making of The Godfather, but there is still more to discover about this incredible true story with The Blu-ray release. The four-disk Blu-ray set includes all ten episodes and more than three hours of bonus content.
