The Internet Slams Alyssa Milano for Starting GoFundMe to Pay for Her Son’s Baseball Team Trip

The internet was a little cruel to Alyssa Milano earlier this week when she announced a GoFundMe campaign for her son’s travel gear.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), the Delighted Star announced the campaign. “My son’s baseball team is raising money for their trip to Cooperstown,” he wrote. “Any amount would be greatly appreciated.”

The campaign, which was created in May 2023, seeks $10,000. Funds will cover team travel costs, uniforms and family fees. “We could also use your donations for pins and novelty items to make our tournaments memorable experiences beyond the field.”

Since its launch, the campaign has raised more than $8,000 from nearly 665 donors.

However, critics were quick to point out that Alyssa Milano is a successful actress with a large portfolio. “Stop begging”, an X user wrote to Milan. “You’re a fucking millionaire. Pay for your son’s trip yourself.”

Another user he pointed that she still receives royalties from Delighted. “Girl, they still play Delighted on TNT.”

Alyssa Milano quickly responded to the criticism by sharing what she has contributed to the team so far. “I’ve paid for uniforms for the entire team and coaches,” she explained in X. “I threw birthday parties and sponsored any kids who couldn’t pay the monthly fees.”

Milano then claimed that the kids on the team raise funds themselves. This includes car washes, movie nights, and other fun activities. He went on to thank those who contributed to the GoFundMe campaign. “You have made things easier for these children and their families,” she added.

Alyssa Milano fans support her while criticizing her for GoFundMe campaign

While responding to her latest X post, Alyssa Milano’s fans were quick to support her as she defended herself against internet trolls.

“It’s unreal, right away, just because you’re an actress, people think you have to finance everything,” one fan said. wrote. “There is nothing wrong with you doing this. It’s a great example for kids to see you as Alyssa the mom and not Alyssa the actress. This world is invaded by Karens!

another fan grateful Alyssa Milano for helping the team. “As a former college baseball coach and athletic director, I respect people who dedicate much of their time, treasures and talents to children. “Everyone has something they can contribute.”

Meanwhile, one fan said he understood the outrage over the GoFundMe campaign, although he wasn’t sure he fully understood it either. “I mean, is she supposed to pay for everyone every season?” they asked. “Fanatic or not, you have to be realistic. An exception here and there would be great if it were expected all the time and it shouldn’t be that way.”
