Omega and Crosshair managed to escape Mount Tantis on the day of the Emperor’s visit, but this interruption meant that Omega’s genetic scans were analyzed by Emery Carr. These scans reveal that Omega was far more important to Palpatine’s plans than anyone thought.

Palpatine’s experiments on Mount Tantis explained

exist Star Wars: The Bad Batch In Season 2, Dr. Hemlock insists that his cloning experiments on Mount Tantis are vital to the future of the Empire. Viewers immediately deduced that this had something to do with the cloning experiments that led to Palpatine’s resurrection. Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. The Emperor’s visit to Mount Tantis confirmed this theory, and Palpatine continued his efforts to overcome death itself – explaining why this was known as the Necromancer Project.

Midi-chlorians cannot replicate and must be injected into clones.

The core problem, however, is creating a Force-sensitive clone – since the protozoa cannot replicate, they must be injected into the clone. This is why Dr. Hemlock wanted to get access to the Kamino clones; they were his test subjects and he had been injecting them with midichlorians.Emerie injects Crosshair with mysterious drug Star Wars: The Bad Batch Season 2, but his body seemed to be rejecting it. This presumably means Emery gave Crosshair the Primarch Midi – but it didn’t go well.

Omega holds key to Palpatine’s cloning experiments

Omega in Star Wars: The Bad Batch

Nala Se is conducting regular tests on blood samples collected from the clones, which may then be treated with P. midi to assess their potential to accept “donation.” However, she had been secretly intervening to help Omega, destroying the blood samples before testing. The Emperor’s visit disrupts everything, as Emery is tasked with conducting routine blood tests at Narase’s location – she runs Omega’s sample through the machine. To her surprise, she discovered that Omegas are compatible with midi-chlorians.

This makes Omega the key to Palpatine’s cloning experiments. Somehow, the Kaminoans managed to create a clone whose body did not reject the Midi parasite. Omega is no ordinary clone. She was always believed to be a mutant, although why was never explained. It now appears that the Kaminoans were secretly trying to create Force-sensitive mutant clones even before the Dark Ages, and Omega was the result.

The Empire had previously only been interested in Omega because Dr. Hemlock believed she was necessary to ensure Narathe’s obedience. This blood test changes everything, as Hemlock wants to figure out how to reverse engineer Omega. If he could do that, he could eventually create Force-sensitive clones. This would be a huge improvement for Palpatine, as he would be able to transfer his dark essence into clones. Theoretically, the Emperor can even increase the clone’s M number, making him even more powerful than before after resurrecting from the dead.

Are Omega and Crosshair actually force sensitive?

Narasel knew full well that Omega’s clones would not reject the protozoan Midi. There is only one reason why she knows this: if the Omega was designed for this purpose and has been processed. The exact relationship between midi-chlorians and the Force is a hotly debated topic in the fandom. Generally speaking, the higher the Prime Number, the easier it is for a creature to tap into the Force. In theory, injecting midi-chlorians into viable clones should allow them to harness the Force, giving them Force powers.

Omega hasn’t shown any real Force sensitivity in the past. But it’s not that easy for clones to harness the Force, especially if the Primarch Midi they carry was extracted from someone else. Omega did learn how to meditate from her interactions with a Wookiee Jedi named Gunji, which likely helped her tap into the Force.

Meanwhile, the situation with Crosshair is much more complicated. His mutation must have made him theoretically adaptable to midi-chlorians – otherwise Emery would never have gotten to the next stage of injecting them into his body. However, Crosshair’s body seemed to reject the Primarch Midi, meaning his experiment failed. The interesting question is whether he could still somehow learn to harness the Force, based on the Primarch Midi now in his blood. It will certainly be exciting to discover this.

The Bad Batch Season 3 ties every Star Wars era together

Star Wars: The Bad Batch Season three has become an important part of the saga, as it serves as the connective tissue between every other era. The animated TV show is set during the dark days of the Empire’s rule, but it confirms that – within just a few years of the Empire’s formation – Palpatine was already conducting cloning experiments. The Emperor apparently never intended to pass his empire on to his apprentices, and in fact he was actually subtly referring to Vader when he claimed that some of his allies would consider these experiments an abomination. The Sith considered this combination of science and sorcery heretical.

However, even more exciting is that Star Wars: The Bad Batch Episodes 1-3 of Season 3 finally solve the mystery of the New Republic era.The Imperial Shadow Council is mentioned in Project Necromancer The Mandalorian Season 3 Episode 7, which means they will continue Dr. Hemlock’s work years later – trying to bring Palpatine back to life. These experiments require more than just cloning; They need donors, Force-sensitive test subjects who can extract the midi-chlorians. That’s why the Empire has always wanted Grogu.

Of course, the Shadow Council would eventually succeed.Palpatine will return as Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker; But even the best minds in the Empire couldn’t quite get the problem right, as it worsened when he had new clones. It is reasonable to assume Star Wars: The Bad Batch Season three will reveal why the Empire’s experiments took so long, and why they didn’t achieve perfect cloning; it’s speculated that Clone Trooper 99 will try to prevent the Empire from reaching Omega.
