Followers are slamming Teen Mom’s Farrah Abraham for allegedly involving her daughter, Sophia, in her social media promotion ads. The MTV star has been known to rock the boat, yet fans still find fault in her parenting, no matter what she does.
Farrah remains one of the most controversial stars from the franchise. Farrah first made her debut on 16 & Pregnant in 2009, where fans learned the father of her child died tragically. The Nebraska native had a hard life as she often argued with her mother. MTV axed her from the show for taking part in an adult video, and since then, Farrah has gone on to star in other reality shows and write a book. Love her or hate her, the 29-year-old has worked to become one of the most successful cast members.
Fans were utterly appalled when they saw that Sophia, who is only 12, helping to promote some of the collaborations her mother works with. In her Instagram Story via Reddit, Sophia shared a picture of what first looked like a joint but then turned out to be a pregnancy test. Followers were shocked at how a mother could think that it was OK for her pre-teen daughter to promote a tool for women’s reproductivity.
It was obvious that Farrah had missed the mark with the style of promotion. A follower could see that Farrah was the one in the background taking the snap, as it showed in her daughter’s sunglasses. They also argued over whether it was a pregnancy test or a fertility test. But in the end, a user pointed out the box to the left that said pregnancy test on it. Fans made it clear that they worried about Sophia’s well-being, writing, “If you have a photo of your 12 year old posing with a pregnancy test on social media, isn’t that some sort of physical proof of neglect?”
Bottom line, everyone agreed that Farrah had no worldly reason to have her pre-teen daughter pushing pregnancy tests for her. But in the end, her marketing worked since everyone was talking about the picture. She may be a misguided teen mom, but she could also be a marketing genius, depending on how you look at it.
