Pop star Taylor Swift began dating Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce in 2023. Amid her relationship with the star tight end, Swift became a regular fixture at Chiefs games. .until his big victory in the Super Bowl.
Chiefs head coach Andy Reid revealed that during the season, Swift made homemade pies for the offensive line. However, Reid was unable to give a review of the baked goods because he did not have the opportunity to try them.
“Hilarious nugget: Taylor Swift made homemade pop tarts online for the Chiefs during the season, but Andy lamented that he didn’t get any,” NFL analyst Chris Simms tweeted on Feb. 27.
Taylor apparently likes baked goods and loves sharing her craft with others. Retired NFL star Bernie Kosar revealed that he recently went to Travis Kelce’s house for lunch. During his visit, he tried some homemade cinnamon rolls that caused a singing sensation.
“Taylor is very kind,” Kosar shared. “She comes alone, she’s so cool, she brings…she made her homemade cinnamon rolls for Travis for a pre-game meal.”
Buffalo Bakery cashes in on Taylor Swift
Since becoming a fixture in the NFL, Swift’s name has seemingly become synonymous with baked goods.
Donuts Delite, a bakery in nearby Rochester, New York, ran a three-day promotion during the weekend the Chiefs faced the Buffalo Bills in the playoffs. The team prepared donuts for Swift, anticipating that he would be in town for Travis’ game at Highmark Stadium.
USA Today reports that the promotion was so successful that the owner had to hire 30 more workers due to demand.
“It was wild, crazy. What trip. What I can tell you is that we are all tired today,” Nick Semeraro, owner of Donuts Delite, told USA Today. “This raised a lot of emotions on both sides, but we are proud of what we do and are grateful for all the interest. What a bless.”
Audio of Chiefs Super Bowl debacle won’t leak
The Chiefs’ victory in the Super Bowl was not without drama. Kelce was on the bench for a pivotal play in the second quarter. And during that play, the Chiefs fumbled in the red zone. After the turnover, Kelce went into beast mode with his head coach Andy Reid.
Although Kelce was wired for the game, a source tells the New York Post that audio of the exchange will not air.
“Two people closely involved in the sports media business told The Post that they suspect the Chiefs blocked NFL Films, which captures the microphone audio, and “Inside the NFL” from airing the direct sound bite of Kelce, and one of them said he thought this edict came from Reid,” the Post writes.
