Taylor Swift and her co-writer and co-producer Jack Antonoff are celebrating their latest chart win after “Cruel Summer” took No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100!
The song, which was never released as a formal single and was included on 2019’s Lover, became a viral hit four years later. This week it reached the highest position on Billboard’s weekly chart, becoming Taylor’s 10th No. 1 on the chart and making her part of an exclusive group.

In a video posted to Instagram, Taylor and Jack appeared briefly speechless before screaming with excitement.
“Our favorite song Lover, from five years ago,” Jack said enthusiastically. “The song we said was the best song, but we were like, ‘Oh, you know what our secret best song is going to be.’ That’s what we think”.
They have clearly been proven wrong!
“We just wanted to thank you for making ‘Cruel Summer’ No. 1 on the Hot 100, and it’s not even summer anymore. It is a deep fall; “I’m wearing a sweater,” Taylor added.
