‘Tanveer Wasim Safdar’, better known as Tan France, was born on Wednesday, 20 April 1983 (age 40 years; as in 2023) in Doncaster, United Kingdom. Tan France grew up in a strict Pakistani Muslim household in South Yorkshire, England. He did his schooling from Hall Cross School. Tan France was completely inspired by the Disney-themed clothing made in her grandfather’s denim factory, so she chose to study fashion and enrolled at Doncaster College. Later, he moved to Manchester and then to London. In 2015, Tan France relocated to Salt Lake City, Utah in the United States.

Tan France started her career as a retail designer at Zara after her college. She then increased her expertise in designing, delivery and wholesale manufacturing by working with major fashion lines such as Selfridges, Chanel and Bershka. France began by designing men’s clothing but eventually shifted to women’s clothing. In 2008, he began working in the United States, living in New York City. Soon after, in 2015, he moved to the US. In 2011, Tan France opened her own fashion brand, ‘Kingdom & State’, before which she served as director at Shed Clothing. His brand consisted of clothing designed to meet Mormon clothing guidelines. He later created two less notable clothing lines. The unique designs from France were acquired by retailers Forever 21 and Modcloth. After selling his business, France took official retirement. Thereafter, Netflix came up with an offer for her to appear as a fashion expert in the series ‘Queer Eye’ (2018), which resulted in her life’s boon.
In 2020, France emerged as the co-host of the reality show ‘Next in Fashion’ on Netflix alongside Alexa Chung.
She was then cast in the Netflix series ‘Naled It!’ which aired in March 2018. In 2020, France participated in television shows including ‘The Great Celebrity Bake Off’, ‘The Big Process’ and ‘Celebrity Family Feud’. He was a part of an American game show titled Nickelodeon Unfiltered in 2021. Tan Frances appeared in 2023 as a judge on an American reality competition series called ‘The Circle’.
