Root canal gone wrong
On 28 May 2022, Swati underwent root canal surgery at a private hospital called Oryx Dental Multispeciality Hospital in Bengaluru; However, the surgery went wrong and resulted in facial swelling. When the doctors were questioned about this failed surgery, their response was very general as they said that it was not a major complication, and that she would get rid of her swollen face in a few days; However, even twenty days after the surgery, Swati’s face was swollen. According to sources, instead of anesthetics, they injected salicylic acid into his body. Swati accused the hospital of giving wrong treatment. Later he shared the picture of his swollen face on social media, which went viral. He talked about this in an interview and said,
When I consulted another dentist for a second opinion, this is what I found out. The dentist who performed my root canal procedure first injected me with sodium hypochlorite, at which point I screamed and started crying because it was extremely painful. Later he injected anesthesia. According to other doctors, it should have been done in a different way. First anesthesia is given and then sodium hypochlorite.”
