Comment on Kerala flood victims

During the floods in Kerala in 2018, Swamy had opposed helping people who ate beef. Speaking to reporters, Swamy said,

I am also appealing for help in Kerala. But help should be given to those who respect nature and creatures. When bread was available to the people in Kerala, they were slaughtering cows to eat their meat. So, what I mean to say is that Hindus should help those who abstain from cow meat, those who are deliberately trying to hurt Hinduism by eating cow and slaughtering it on the road, they should Should not be forgiven. People who eat beef should not get any help. If they are to provide assistance, they should be asked to sign a pledge that they will never eat beef in future.

His comments were not well received by a certain section of the society. Later, the official website of Hindu Mahasabha was hacked and the recipe of spicy beef curry was uploaded on it.
