After completing her bachelor’s degree, Suzanne began working at Young & Rubicam, an advertising agency in Frankfurt. Additionally, he began working with the Dresdner Bank in London. Following her father’s death in 1982, Suzanne inherited a 50.1% stake in Altana, a pharmaceutical and chemicals manufacturer. He is part of the supervisory board of the company and has played a major role in transforming the business into a world-class corporation helping them achieve their place in the German DAX Top 30 Companies list. In 2006, Suzanne sold Altana’s pharmaceutical activities to the Swiss pharmaceutical company Nycomed for €4.5 billion, and the money was divided among shareholders as a dividend. In March 2009, SGL Carbon, a German graphite producer, revealed that Suzanne could increase its holdings to almost a quarter of the available shares. Following her mother’s death in 2015, Susanne’s stake in BMW increased to 19.2% and she was appointed as a member of the supervisory board along with her brother Stefan Quandt.

Controversy
In 2007, Suzanne found herself in the middle of a major controversy when she had an affair with a Swiss playboy/conman. His name was Helge Sgarby and he tried to threaten Susan by saying that if Susan did not pay him €49 million (£43 million), he would leak photos showing their affair. Despite all the humiliation, Klaten filed a complaint against Sgarby and officers at a motorway service station in Germany arrested him. Sgarbi conveniently carried out his plan to blackmail Klatten by meeting him at a Holiday Inn resort in Munich, and the encounter was recorded by Sgarbi or one of his associates. Later, Clanton admitted that he had given €7 million to Sgarby after he told him a fake story about how he needed money to help the family of an injured girl.
