They have three sons named Arbaaz Khan (Director, Producer, Writer and Actor), Salman Khan (Actor), and Sohail Khan (Director, Producer, Writer and Actor) and a daughter named Alvira Khan Agnihotri (Film Producer and Fashion Designer).

- Sushila met Salim Khan in 1964, about 5-6 years before their marriage. Before marriage, both were in a relationship for five years.
- After marriage, Sushila changed her name to Salma Khan.
- Salim married Helen in 1981 without divorcing Sushila. Sushila and Salim had become parents of four children by then.
- After Salim’s marriage to Helen, their family started falling apart. Sushila could not bear to be cheated but still had no option but to live under the same roof with Helen. The children sided with Sushila and no one was ready to accept Helen.
- Salim did not want to choose between his two wives, therefore, he tried to tell his family that Helen was not a ‘home breaker’. Soon his family also realized this and the children started considering Helen as their ‘mother’.
