Susan Sarandon has been arrested.
The 76-year-old Oscar winner and political activist was among eight people arrested while protesting in support of fair wages for restaurant workers on Monday (May 8) in the New York state capital in Albany, NY.

Susan was arrested along with former New York Lieutenant Governor candidate Ana María Archila. Spectrum News 1 Albany reports.

Susan went to Albany to push for legislation that would increase the minimum wage for tipped restaurant workers. New York leaders are willing to raise the state minimum wage to $17 an hour, but the nonprofit One Fair Wage says tipped workers are excluded from the legislation.
This is not the first time Susan has been arrested during a protest.
In 2018, she was arrested for protesting then-President Donald Trump’s immigration policy.
