Surya Keerthi is an Indian wildlife conservationist, animal rescuer and conservation speaker based in Mysore city, Karnataka. Surya gained attention after his video went viral in which he was seen trying to save a serious spectacled cobra that was crushed by a vehicle and struggling for its life. He is the son of Snake Shyam, a snake enthusiast who participated in season 10 of the reality TV show Bigg Boss Kannada.

According to some sources, he is a graduate. Surya grew up watching his father rescue snakes and developed a curiosity about snakes at an early age. As a child, he would often accompany his father to rescue sites and watch snake rescue operations. Gradually he learned the art of identifying poisonous and non-poisonous snakes just by seeing them. While sharing a childhood memory in an interview, he said,
I remember a documentary was being filmed on my father, I must have been 3 years old. And I was crying because I wanted to catch a snake. Then father put his hand inside a bag and took out a small thin snake and handed it to me. I used to bring small snakes to my room and try to observe their behavior. As I grew up, I accompanied dad to some rescue operations, saved some non-venomous snakes myself and then gradually moved on to saving poisonous snakes.

Surya Keerthi started his career as a wildlife conservationist and animal rescuer at an early age. He has rescued and preserved thousands of snakes in Mysore district.

Surya also protects the eggs of the rescued snakes and gives them artificial incubation until the eggs hatch. Then he leaves the snake babies in safe places in appropriate condition. Apart from snakes, Surya has also rescued other animals like owls, squirrels and puppies.

He also has a small animal shelter in Mysore, where animals disabled in accidents are rehabilitated. He has organized many awareness programs about snakes across the country. On January 18, 2014, he created a self-titled YouTube channel on which he uploads his animal rescue videos. As of 2023, the channel has over 135k subscribers.
