Preview Comic Action #1049 By Philip Kennedy Johnson and Mike Perkins An ordinary day at the zoo should have been disrupted for the burgeoning superhero family. The new gods of the Fourth Period have begun to take over Ursula, the current holder of the cosmic power known as the Fire of Algren. Superman refuses to let Ursula go and confronts the combined forces of Apokolips and New Genesis. Superman: Man of Steel fights against Orion and Kalibak in the middle of the Metropolitan Zoo. Kalibak mocks Clarke’s waning powers, saying there’s nothing “sublime” about him anymore. However, Superman flatly refused, claiming that he was stronger than ever thanks to the White Sun of the World of War.
What does the white sun mean to Superman?
It sounds boastful, but Superman has a precedent for developing greater strength thanks to the young Sun. During his visit to Oddworld, Superman was able to bestow the powers of Krypton on ordinary people, thanks to a retrograde planet orbiting an extremely young blue sun. Now that the old Red Sun has completely weakened Clark, it stands to reason that the new Red Sun will make him even stronger. The question remains: With Superman currently in possession of a white solar generator so close to Earth, to what extent has he found his powers?
The white sun is not EQUAL young as blue, but it Correct Younger than the yellow sun gave Clark his usual powers. As the World at War enters Earth’s orbit, Superman moves closer to a more powerful source of energy. Make no mistake, Clarke wasn’t just bluffing. He may have regained his powers, and then some. He may not have developed the “super vision” given to him by Strangeworld’s blue sun, but the white sun did the impossible and helped Superman reverse the cellular decline caused by radiation poisoning.
