- At the age of 16, while she was performing in a musical play on stage, she was spotted by Indian actor Sanjeev Kohli. Talking about this in an interview, Sunita said,
I was doing Grease on stage and was just 16 years old at the time. Sanjeev Kohli saw me on stage and he came to me and said, ‘I want to do an Indipop album.’ At first, I was not interested in Indipop, I said, ‘No, I’m not going to sing in Hindi and I’m in English theater and be a performer, you know, the nose-in-the-air’ thing.
