Controversy
In 2019, Suleman was arrested by the National Accountability Bureau in a money laundering case. The organization claimed that Hamza Shahbaz, Suleman and their father Shahbaz Sharif owned assets worth Rs. 3.3 billion. The immovable properties of him and his family were confiscated. In October 2019, a non-bailable arrest warrant was issued to Suleman and the accountability court declared Suleman a fugitive. In 2021, the accounts of Sharif family members were frozen.

Imran said that because of Suleman, China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) is not running properly. Responding to Imran Khan in an interview, Suleman said,
