Sudipti Hajela started horse riding at the age of six. Initially he was trained at a training center in Delhi and later at international level. In 2018, she won the AEF (Asian Equestrian Federation) Dressage Qualifier held in Jaipur, India in the U21 category.

On 4 November 2018, she competed at the 2018 FEI World Dressage Challenge in New Delhi, India. In December 2018, she participated in the Junior National Equestrian Championships held in Kolkata and won a gold medal in the team event and a bronze medal in the individual event.

In April 2019, she won the Asian Equestrian Federation (AEF) U-21 Dressage Championships held in Doha, Qatar and ranked 5th in the Asian continent.

In January 2021, she participated in the National Equestrian Championship Dressage 2020-2021 held at Army Polo and Riding Club, Brar Square, New Delhi, where she won 2 gold, 1 silver and 1 bronze medal in various events.

In December 2021, she competed at the PSG (Prix St. George), the highest level of competition in dressage in Delhi and finished first, and in Intermediate 1 she finished second. In 2023, she was a member of the team (quartet) that represented India at the 2022 Asian Games; Divyakriti Singh, Hriday Chheda and Anush Agarwal were the other members of the team (quartet). India won the gold medal for the first time in the team event of Equestrian Dressage and it was India’s first gold medal in Equestrian Dressage after 41 years. However, Hajela’s score was the lowest among the four Indian riders and only the top three scores were considered. Talking about his experience at the Asian Games in an interview, he said,

I think this is no less than a wow moment for all four of us. It was really nice to make history. Before coming to the Games we were confident that if we gave our best we would be on the podium. We didn’t know it was going to be gold. It is difficult to express what I am feeling. Every athlete dreams of seeing the tricolor flag waving and playing our national anthem.”
