Acharya Yashpal Sudhanshu Maharaj was born on Monday, 2 May 1955 (age 66 years; as in 2021) in Haripur village of Behat, Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh. Their zodiac sign is Taurus. After completing his schooling, he joined a gurukul and went on to study at a university. At the age of 20, he joined the classes of Shri Nandkishore, professor of philosophy, in Haridwar, Uttarakhand. He also gained knowledge from a saint Shri Prakashanand Ji.

Beginning of spiritual journey

According to his official website, in his childhood itself he started shedding light on the rituals of his previous birth. Since then his inclination turned towards spirituality. By the age of seven he had acquired knowledge of various Hindu mantras and shlokas. In 1998, he started the Karuna Sindhu Charitable Hospital at Anand Dham Ashram in Delhi where free medical services were provided to the needy. Arogya Dham Hospital in Faridabad (Haryana), established under the Mission, has also provided free medical services to the deprived section of the society.

In 2021, a school named Gyandeep Vidyalaya was started in Faridabad, Haryana where around 700 girls and 300 boys are being taught. Most of the children studying in this school are those who earlier used to work as beggars and child labour. In July 2018, a Gurukul called Siddhidham Ashram was established in Kanpur, and in May 2019, a school called Maharishi Ved Vyas Upadeshak Mahavidyalaya was established, where preachers or Dharmacharyas are trained to spread the message of peace, love, harmony and spirituality. Criminal case filed by a businessman

In 2015, Mansinghka, an Indian businessman, filed a petition against Sudhanshu Maharaj and his charitable trust Vishva Jagriti Mission for providing fake receipts of donations made by him. Later, an arrest warrant was issued against Sudhanshu Maharaj by the Shajapur Court in a case of issuing fake donation receipt to a businessman. Earlier, the Madhya Pradesh High Court had ordered him to appear before a judicial magistrate in Shajapur, but when he did not appear, an arrest warrant was issued against him.

In 2018, a 73-year-old woman, Krishna Sharma, had accused Sudhanshu Maharaj and Devendra Khandelwal (owners of Kips Sweets) of usurping her property and cash. She filed a case against him in the court. According to a leading newspaper, the whole matter is as follows.

72-year-old Krishna Sharma of Sanjaynagar Gopalnagar joined Sudhanshu Ji Maharaj’s organization Vishwa Jagruti in 2004. Krishna’s husband was a lab assistant. After his death and lack of children, she became attractive to the institution of Sudhanshu Maharaj. Sudhanshu Maharaj and Khandelwal had received around Rs 7.50 lakh as donation from him including expensive house and jewellery. The elderly woman alleges that both of them told her that in return for this donation, the organization would take care of her throughout her life. She would also be taken care of during illness, but when the woman fell ill, she was not taken care of. After which the woman’s family came and took her for treatment.

Reportedly, Krishna was also threatened by Sudhanshu Maharaj and Devendra Khandelwal’s men. When journalists asked Khandelwal his opinion on the whole matter, he said

The elderly woman voluntarily gave the house and registry to the organization. She herself has not been coming to satsang for some time and why she is making such false allegations is beyond my understanding.

Later, while talking to journalists, Pawan Kumar Arora (from Vishwa Jagriti Mission) said,

Krishna ji has built this house as per his own wish. Only after his permission we got the temple and satsang hall constructed. Since then, Katha and Satsang take place every Sunday. Not only this, whenever she fell ill, she was given good treatment and the electricity bill of her house is also being paid by the organization. But I cannot understand why she is making such allegations. There is a deep conspiracy behind all this.”
