Stump Mitchell’s wife and other personal facts have long been shrouded in secrecy. But the former Browns coach has five children with Rita Mitchell. Many football fans thought for a long time that the coach was never married. We don’t know when Rita and Coach Stump walked down the aisle, but they have five children: Eric, Rec, Shawn, Lionel and Gail. Some may recognize Gail from her roles in the Snowfall television series. However, Gail never talked about her father in interviews, instead focusing on her mother and Rita’s influence on her life.
After five seasons, the Cleveland Browns have parted ways with their running backs coach. Mitchell sat down for an exclusive interview after being fired and said he holds no ill will toward the Browns organization or head coach Kevin Stefanski. But Stump mentioned running back Kareem Hunt and questioned the 28-year-old’s work ethic. He complained that he couldn’t get the most out of Kareem.
Is Stump Mitchell Married or Dating?
Rita Mitchell is the wife of Cleveland Browns coach Stump Mitchell. He teaches science in high school. The football coach rarely appears to talk about his family, so it’s unclear if Stump and Rita are divorced. Not only do they have a husband and wife relationship, but they also have five children. Most football fans understand that the coach’s family information will be published on the team’s website. The websites do not go into depth, but they do include the coach’s marriage and the names of his wives and children. But the Cleveland Browns’ website did nothing of the sort for their previous coach.
This might lead some to assume that Coach Stump is single and has no children. However, in a 2007 interview on the Seattle Seahawks website, Stump confirmed that he had children. When asked about a memorable milestone in his life outside of football, the coach said: “The birth of my children – nothing else compares to that. Mitchell coached the Seahawks from 1999 to 2007. He was the running backs coach.
The football coach does not have a profile on social networks, so nothing is known about his private life. Mitchell has already discussed his family life before marriage. The football coach’s single mother raised him and his six siblings in Georgia. His older brother nicknamed him Stump. Despite being smaller than the other children, Stump was always eager to participate in sports and was never intimidated by bigger or older competitors. Most of his interviews so far have focused on his sports career rather than his personal life.
