‘Stranger Things’ Season 5 Delayed Due To Writers Strike, Duffer Brothers Provide Update

Matt and Ross Duffer (aka the Duffer Brothers) have confirmed the status of the fifth season of Strange things.

If you don’t know, last week the Writer’s Guild of America (WGA) announced that Hollywood writers would go on strike.

Thousands of unionized writers have been advocating for fair wages in the streaming age. In recent weeks, negotiations have stalled and broken down, with the WGA board of directors voting unanimously to call a strike.

The strike began early Tuesday (May 2), effectively halting television production and marking the first strike in more than 15 years.

Fans have been very concerned about the state of Strange things season 5. Now we have an update.

The show’s co-creators wrote on Twitter: “Duffers here. The writing doesn’t stop when shooting begins. While we’re excited to begin production with our incredible cast and crew, it’s not possible during this strike. We hope that a fair agreement can be reached soon so that we can all get back to work. Until then, over and out. #wgastrong”.
