Steven Tyler responds to sexual assault lawsuit stemming from a relationship with a teenager in the 1970s, calls for the case to be dismissed

Steven Tyler is asking for a sexual assault lawsuit filed against him in December 2022 to be dismissed.

The 75-year-old Aerosmith rocker was accused of getting into a relationship with a woman named Julia Holcomb when he was around 16 in the 1970s.

At the time, he was 25 years old and was her legal guardian while she joined him on tour with the band. Steven apparently referenced the relationship in his 2011 memoir, writing that she “almost married a teenager.”

More than three months after the lawsuit was filed, Steven responded with his own claims.

While he apparently doesn’t deny that he and Julia had a relationship when she was a teenager, he does deny that he sexually assaulted her.

According us weekly, Steven requested that the case be dismissed because Julia had previously consented to the relationship. Court documents indicate that he argued that she “has not suffered any injury or harm.” Furthermore, he claims to have qualified immunity since she was serving as his guardian at the time.

This appears to be the first time Steven has addressed the claims.

Several years ago, another celebrity credited the musician with a “huge part” of his sobriety.
