She met Indian TV actor Mohit Hiranandani at a common friend’s party in Mumbai. Initially, they connected with each other on social media and did not exchange numbers for about six months. After a few months, they started dating each other on 6 October 2017. Later, they moved in together in a flat in Mumbai and after being in a live-in relationship for more than 3 years, Mohit got engaged to Steffy in 2021.

Talking about Stephy during an interview, Mohit said,
it feels great. I have been in a live-in relationship with him for 3 years. And I think 3 years is enough time to know each other. I won’t find anyone better than him. I will never find someone who will treat me the way she does. So finally I thought I should ask the question. One day, I was sitting with my friends and Steffi was not there. I told him I was thinking about asking questions.
In 2021, Mohit shared a post on his Instagram account on December 30, 2021, sharing the news of his registered marriage. Talking about Mohit in an interview, Steffy said,
His family loves me and my family loves him! Mohit was in a convent school, which introduced him to many aspects of Christianity. On the other hand, they introduced me to their culture and faith. It’s been varied and exciting. Freedom is important and it is linked to respect. I must respect my partner’s decision to be who he wants to be, not who I want him to be. Even when we have kids, we often discuss that we will never pressure them to follow a certain religion or become a doctor or engineer because that’s what we want. They will have the freedom to be themselves…just like we did.”
