Stardew Valley Chicken Plushes Are Available For Preorder

Fans of Stardew Valley can now preorder new brown and white chicken plushes based on those from the game. Stardew Valley is a farming simulation game first released in 2016, and is considered one of the best farming games of all time – some even consider Stardew Valley superior to the Harvest Moon series it draws inspiration from. Since its release, the game has sold over 15 million copies worldwide.

One of the more prominent features of Stardew Valley is the ability to raise livestock – players can raise chickens, ducks, rabbits, cows, goats, pigs, and more on their farm, caring for them while collecting the various resources they produce. Alongside normal white and brown chickens, two special varieties exist in the game: black chickens, which can be obtained from a witch visiting the farm, and blue chickens, which can be acquired through marrying Shane and befriended through a Stardew Valley mod.

The Twitter account GoNintendoTweet announced that two new color varieties of Stardew Valley chicken plushes will soon become available. Fans can now preorder brown and white chicken plushes based on those in the game from collectibles website Sanshee. According to the item listings, the birds’ dimensions are “8 inches tall, 8 inches wide, and 9 inches long” and “extra soft and squishy for maximum huggability and cuteness.” So far, no shipping date estimate has been offered by the website. Blue and black chickens are already being sold on the site, though the blue variety is currently sold out.

These chickens are an incredibly cute addition to any Stardew Valley fan’s collection. Although chickens may not be the most lucrative animal in Stardew Valley, they are the first that most players acquire and hold a special place in the hearts of many fans. Their small size and adorable pixel art design make them an incredibly cute idea for a stuffed plush. The plushes themselves capture the pixelated chickens very well, even including a few squares on their chest as a reference to the original in-game design. Although its unknown when fans can get their hands on these new plushes, they are sure to put a smile upon many players’ faces upon release.

Stardew Valley‘s creator Eric Barone – also known as ConcernedApe – has for the most part moved on from the game, focusing on his new project Haunted Chocolatier. Updates for Stardew Valley are likely over, at least for the foreseeable future. However, plushes like these, and the excitement surrounding them, is a reminder that the game’s fandom still remains strong even though the creator has moved on. The player base for Stardew Valley isn’t likely to grow tired of the game any time soon, especially with plushes like these to remind them of their love for the game.
