The Balash Oath is a Little-Known Aspect Star Wars Canon, first mentioned in Charles Soule’s 2017 Darth Vader Cartoon, later shown in practice high republic Comics and novels. Is Kaelnaka a target of the Acolytes?
Assuming May is the Acolyte mentioned in the title, and she’s hunting down rogue Jedi to help prove herself, then Kaelnaka is her main target. Jedi who took the Oath of Barash were separated from the Order, meaning Kaelnaka would have no backup if May tried to kill him. Still, May looks like an acrobatic warrior who likes to break through his opponents’ defenses with his knife. Therefore, Kaelnaka’s innate strength as a Wookiee poses a huge problem for May; he may end up needing no support at all to deal with her.
The first two episodes of “Acolyte” will premiere on Disney+ on June 4, 2024.
It seems unlikely that Disney will kill off Kyle Naka in the first few episodes of the series, suggesting that May won’t kill him off. If this is indeed the case, then Kelnaka may have been the first to alert the Jedi Order that a killer was on the loose. Kaelnaka may have been one of the few to escape May’s massacre, and her attempted attack may have prompted him to reconsider his oath and return to the Jedi Order. Either way, Kaelnaka is probably one of the most important characters in the game. acolyte.
