Stephen A. Smith is a Swiftie and he’s coming to Taylor Swift’s defense!
During a January 10 episode of ESPN First shotThe 56-year-old sports journalist took a moment to educate the haters of the 34-year-old pop star.
Taylor has attended many football games to support her boyfriend, Travis Kelce, and some NFL fans are not thrilled with the recent attention towards her.
However, according to Stephen, she is “that girl” and people should “show some respect.”

“I have to take a moment to defend Taylor Swift,” he began. “Everyone is sitting there and acting like she’s some kind of impediment. She did her job. That Tour of the eras? Off the chain! They generated billions.”
The television personality revealed that she went to one of his shows and had a great time.
“Taylor Swift was phenomenal,” he said. “I went toconcert. I see these kids, they absolutely love her. She did her job. She is going to support her friend to appear at a soccer game and the camera is focused on her… that is not her fault.”
“And by the way, she went to the games after the concerts,” Stephen noted. “It’s not that she used the games to improve the concerts. Oh no. Those kids went to her concerts, whether the NFL promoted her or not.”
In closing, he emphasized, “Taylor Swift is that girl. Let’s show some respect. She will likely have a positive impact on Travis Kelce’s performance.”
Stephen’s defense comes days later golden balloons Host Jo Koy made an NFL-related joke about Taylor that the singer didn’t seem to like.
