there’s no one inside SpongeBob . Square Pants Who is greedy like a king crab. His love of money almost destroyed every relationship he had. However, always as selfish as Mr. Krabs was, it was sometimes hard not to feel sorry for him.
The crab boss is often self-righteous, selfish, and indifferent, but he also has a soft side under his tough shell. Throughout the show, he’s shown that he values pearls, SpongeBob SquarePants, and sometimes even his arch-nemesis Plankton. Five times Mr. Krabs was a terrible person, and five times he deserved sympathy.

Before SpongeBob . Square Pants In the series, Boss Krabs serves in the Navy. In the episode “Man in the Shell”, SpongeBob learns that Boss Krabs is about to have a Navy reunion. When Boss Crab reminisces, he shows SpongeBob his naval memorabilia and tells him his old nickname, “Boss Crab Belly”.
Everything seemed to be going well until the crab boss suddenly came out of the shell. Without a shell, he was afraid his old naval friends would not accept him. It was sad to see Mr. Krab’s excitement turn into anguish in a matter of seconds.
Hate him: when he steals treasure
When the crab boss wanted to join the “Ah! , this seemed like harmless fun to treasure hunting with SpongeBob SquarePants and Patrick. During the hunt, however, Mr. Krabs let his greed and selfishness let him down. When he finally found the treasure, Mr. Krab wanted to keep it all to himself.
Worse still, the crab boss barely did any work during the treasure hunt. Instead, he let SpongeBob and Patrick do all the heavy lifting. So it was really mindless for him to take the treasure as his own.
Feeling Bad: When SpongeBob Launched Pearls
Pearl and Mr. Krabs sometimes quarrel, but in the end, they really love each other. An example is in the episode “Bossy Boots”, where Boss Krab hires Pearl to work at the Krab King restaurant. While working there, Pearl made so many costly changes that Krabs couldn’t keep her at the company.
Boss Krab didn’t want to fire her himself, so he let SpongeBob do it. SpongeBob knows that Pearl secretly wants to be fired, but Mr. Krabs doesn’t. When Boss Krabs heard that SpongeBob had fired her, he believed she was too distraught to pass out. Fans learn that it’s not just money that evokes emotions in Mr. Krabs, but also pearls.
Hate him: when he harasses plankton
Plankton and Krabs are arch-enemies, but sometimes the rivalry between them can get too big. An example is in the episode “A Rough Meal”, where Boss Krabs learns that plankton is afraid of whales. Throughout the episode, the crab boss disguises himself as Pearl and torments Plankton.
The crab boss kept doing this so that Plankton would lie on the road waiting for the bus to pass. When Boss Krab heard about it, instead of showing concern or regret, he smiled. It’s hard to support the Krab boss when he likes to push people to that point.
Feeling bad: When he lost SpongeBob to plankton
SpongeBob has stopped working at Krusty Krab many times, but never like in “Welcome to the Chum’s Bucket”. When Boss Krab loses to Plankton in a card game, he has to give up SpongeBob as his employee. They tearfully said goodbye and hugged each other before the plankton parted them.
SpongeBob and Mr. Krabs then sang a heartfelt song expressing how much they missed each other’s company. Over the years, SpongeBob has become more than just an employee of Mr. Krabs, and this is evident in this episode.
Hate him: when he scolds Squidward
In “Can you save a dime?” Boss Krabs discovers that his first coin is lost. Since Squidward works with the cash register all day, Mr. Krabs believes he stole it. Squidward did not steal, but Mr. Krabs accused him several times. So Squidward quit his job at Krab King.
SpongeBob tried to make up with Mr. Krabs by offering him a few cents, but he refused. That’s when they realized that the coin was actually in Mr. Crab. Mr. Krabs scolded Squidward and forced him to quit his job because Squidward didn’t touch a dime in the first place.
Feeling bad: When he’s framed
Mr. Krabs himself has been falsely accused, as in sponge movie. In the movie, Plankton steals King Neptune’s crown and uses it to trap Boss Krabs. King Neptune believed this and went to Krusty Krab to fry him.
To save Boss Krab’s life, SpongeBob and Patrick tell King Neptune that they can get the crown back. King Neptune agreed and he froze the crab bosses until they returned. While Boss Krabs has done terrible things in the past, this time he is completely innocent.
Hate him: when he gives orders to SpongeBob
mother-of-pearl never appeared SpongeBob . Square Pants. However, Mr. Krabs still finds romance in the episode “Krusty Love”. When Boss Krab first met Mrs. Puff, he wanted to impress her by buying her some luxury items.
He gives money to SpongeBob to buy these, but every time he comes back Mr. Krabs gets mad at him for spending the money. It doesn’t make sense for Mr. Krabs to get mad at SpongeBob when Mr. Krabs told SpongeBob to do this in the first place.
Feeling Bad: When He and Plankton Become Enemies
Mr. Krabs is now rich, but his life has not always been comfortable. In “Friend or Foe”, Boss Krabs as a child is very poor, but he is also kind and has Plankton as a friend. Since birth, the two have been inseparable and do everything together.
Their friendship changes when they create a new burger. They scrambled for ownership of the recipe and accidentally tore it in half. Crab Boss makes crab cakes according to their recipe, and Plankton leaves Chum. Fans watched Boss Krab go from selfless to selfish as he lost his friendship.
Hate Him: When He Sells SpongeBob’s Soul
Crab bosses will usually do anything for the smallest amount of money. This is shown in the episode “The Crab Reborn”, where the Flying Dutchman wants to punish him for his greed. However, SpongeBob defends him and tells Dutch that he is generous.
They decided to test this, and the Dutch were willing to pay sixty-two cents for SpongeBob’s soul. The crab owner happily accepted, and the Dutchman took the SpongeBob SquarePants away. Although Mr. Krab later regretted the choice, the sale of SpongeBob was pretty bad.
