Spandana Vijay Raghavendra was born in Belthangady, Dakshina Kannada district of Karnataka, India. As per one source, she was born on Thursday, 28 June 1979 (age 44 years; at the time of death), and as per another source, she was born on Wednesday, 28 June 1978 (age 45 years; at the time of death). Her zodiac sign was Cancer.

She did her schooling at Stella Maris School, Gayatri Devi Park Extension, Bengaluru. She later pursued Bachelor’s degree in Arts (BA) at Mount Carmel College, Bengaluru. Vijay Raghavendra saw Spandana for the first time at a cafe in Bengaluru in 2003; however, he did not approach her. When he saw her again after a few years, he approached her and later proposed to her. They dated each other for a few years before their marriage.

In 2016, she made her acting debut by playing the role of a lawyer in the Kannada film Apoorva. She also produced a few films including the Kannada film Kismath in 2018 through her husband’s production company Spandana Shrushti.

Death
Spandana Vijay Raghavendra died on 7 August 2023 in Bangkok due to a heart attack when she was on vacation with her family. Apparently, she slept on the night of 6 August 2023; however, she did not wake up the next morning. She was rushed to a hospital where doctors declared her dead. Her husband brought her body from Bangkok to India on 8 August 2023, and she was cremated at Harishchandra Ghat in Bengaluru on 9 August 2023.

- She liked to dance during her leisure time.
- In an interview before her death, her husband described her as very supportive, caring, and a person who always surprised her with gifts. He also said that Spandana motivated him to participate in the inaugural season of Kannada Bigg Boss in 2013 which he later won.

- After her death, a few people speculated that she might have died due to extreme dieting as she was trying to lose weight. She had lost around 16 kg weight in a few days before her death.
