Screen Rant chats with stars Sonia Mena, Catherine Missal, and Alicia Crowder about their roles in the new Hulu series.

Screen Rant: I’d like to start by asking each of you if you can tell us a little bit about your characters. It’s a new movie, so what’s your role?

Catherine Missal: Bree is an outsider. She grew up the same way, I think, and I would say I did. Just a part of normal life. But she is very loyal. a very good friend. I could relate to her in many ways and I learned a lot from Bree.

Alicia Crowder: I can say that Diana is very ambitious and very determined. Her life is definitely outstanding, but I think she uses that to her advantage and also to help others. Like I think an important part of her relationship with Stephen is helping and encouraging him to be the best he can be and to the best of his ability. I think she’s also very likable to anyone on the street. She wants to help people and bring out the best in everyone.

Sonia Mena: I think Pippa is hot, the leader of three girls, and she’s just crazy about what she wants. She has a loud voice and a lot of energy. I think there’s a lot of tenderness and confusion behind that. Yes, I love her very much.

Screen Rant: Is this a program that switches between past and present? Because we know it takes place over an eight-year period and takes a long time to cover.

Sonia Mena: Yes. I mean, we did some erratic things. But I’d say most of it is over, right?

Screen Rant: What’s your attitude? I’ve talked to other actors who’ve played these roles back and forth, and they say it can be a challenge to know where your character’s bow is when you switch like this.

Catherine Missal: I thought it was interesting because the first thing we filmed was in the future—knowing each other for eight years. It was like the first three days we met. So it’s all really interesting. But we succeeded and had an easy chemical reaction. But it’s fun to play college characters, you know?

Sonia Mena: It’s a real mystery because we know a little bit about how it will end in eight years, but there’s so much going on that we don’t know. So it’s like we’re guessing with the audience where Megan and the screenwriters are going to take us, it’s exciting and keeps you in the loop.

Screen Rant: Overall, how was the experience? How was filming this season and meeting the cast and crew going?

Alicia Crowder: I would say it’s very interesting. Some days on set, the hours are long and everyone is tired, but I think everyone has a great attitude and even in the tough days we got through it together. We just keep our heads down, our heads down, and work hard. So I would say, overall, for me, it’s really good.

Sonia Mena: Well, we were lucky, as Cat said, we were instantly successful. Especially the days when we were all on set—the days when we had big parties or something like that. It’s like a madhouse where we all do stupid things, but we still talk a lot. Yes, it’s really interesting.
